Do you want to quit your job? Do you want to do work that you love?
Are you spending 40 hours a week at a job that isn’t giving you what you need creatively or financially?
Do you have a feeling in the pit of your stomach that you could be doing something more interesting and important with your life than the work you’re doing now?
Are you stuck — anchored to a job that you know is holding you back — but you can’t find a way to leave?
My name is Lee Stranahan and I want to help you quit your job and move onto the next phase of your life — doing work you love about six months from right now. It’s designed to give you the skills, resources and confidence you need to turn in your letter of resignation without breaking into a cold sweat.
I call it the Six Month Jump. It’s an online course that completely lights the path for you, taking you step-by-step through the process of setting yourself up to do the work you love without feeling like you’re jumping off a cliff.
My Story
But first, please let me take a moment to explain why I think I have some unique qualifications to teach this program.
For most of my career I’ve created businesses and worked as a freelance artist. I’ve started magazines, made films, worked as a writer and editor, consulted with creative high-tech companies and taught hundreds of seminars all around the world. Then about six years ago after a falling out with a major client, I had a rough patch in my freelance career. I decided I needed the stability of a full-time job.
I was hired at NBC in Burbank, California to work as a lead graphic artist on the television show Access Hollywood. It was a great job; wonderful people, an interesting work environment plus good pay and benefits. I worked there about five years.
But as good as that job was — it was a job. I wasn’t doing my own work, and I was locked into a life where my employment set my boundaries. Like many people these days, I was struggling paycheck to paycheck. My bills were rising faster than my salary,
I was trapped in my great job.
So around Christmas time 2008, I came to the conclusion that I had to leave my job. Remember, this was around the time of the big economic collapse and the future was very uncertain. Most people would think that I was crazy to quit my job at that point — that I should’ve hunkered down in my cubicle and hope for the storm to pass.
But I couldn’t. I felt like the real risk was staying in my job and waiting to be laid off. Having my future in someone else’s hands, and knowing that a human resources person could come in at any moment and send me home with a severance check and a cardboard box full of my belongings was a lot more terrifying to me than being back in the freelance market.
So in March of last year, I quit my job and moved my family from California to New Mexico. We spent six months living in a hotel while I worked to get my new businesses started and rebuild a roster of clients. That was two adults, two kids and two cats, living in a one room hotel room. After half a year of paying my dues, we moved into our dream house – a four bedroom, three bath home that costs hundreds less a month than we were paying for our small 2/1 apartment in California.
While many might hear about living in a hotel for six months and shake their heads, I can tell you honestly that everyone in my family agrees it was the best move we ever made. Not only are we living in a place we love…not only do we have more time together… but we’re all in more control our own lives. Plus a new baby. And I’m out from under the crushing weight of job pressure and doing work that I think is important in making a difference in people’s lives — things that sometimes land me in the paper or get me shout-outs from film directors.
Your Story
Your dreams are possible. If you are being smothered by your job, I am here to tell you from my own first-hand experience that you can break free, get out from under your job and live a life that’s worthy of you.
Many people who have heard my story have told me that they wish they could do what I did. But they just can’t see how they could leave their job and (understandably) they don’t want to live in a hotel for six months.
That is exactly why I created the Six Month Jump.
I’ve created a program that I wish that I had had access to when I was planning to quit. It goes step-by-step through the process of building businesses in this new economy. I give you detailed information about how to leverage very low-cost or free tools on the Internet and in social media to begin to brand yourself right now and start to build businesses based on doing what you love.
I will show you the things you can be doing right now that will put you in a position to make the jump from the life you’re living right now to a life that you know in your heart is possible.
I’m not trying to sell you on any specific business. There is absolutely no multilevel marketing or other get rich quick scheme here. It’s no trick to get you to buy foreclosed real estate. This is about you and your dreams. It’s about putting you on a path , starting right now to get from where you are to where you want to be.
When you sign-up, you’ll be sent a membership password and you’ll begin getting short, focused lessons and exercises every day that will get you taking actions now that will have big payoffs down the road. The daily lessons are fun and less than five minutes long. Plus, you’ll hear exclusive members only interviews with people who have made the leap themselves.
I want to teach you not only what I did to achieve my dreams — but I also want to show you what I would’ve done if I’d known better.
The topics of the course will include everything from learning how to make a living from your interests to helping you set goals for your business to learning cutting-edge tools and technologies that can help you achieve your dreams . It’s motivational and practical, and every lesson keeps its eye on the prize — allowing you to quit your job in about six months.
